A robotics and automation manufacturer needed to document 18 R&D projects for year-end tax credit reporting — without pulling engineers off delivery. ReaDI took complete ownership of the cycle.
The Situation
This robotics and automation manufacturer delivers cutting-edge custom customer projects, but R&D wasn't clearly distinguished from delivery. Previous years required an estimated 7.5 additional hours per project of engineering time — 135 hours of avoidable effort across 18 projects. Projects spanned engineering, systems development and applications-stage work, ranging from early-concept feasibility through to full production scale-up.

Documentation was built throughout the cycle, not reconstructed at year-end. 17 of 18 projects carry forward with existing documentation as baseline, accelerating the next cycle significantly, and a real-time capture model is proposed for FY+1 — replacing year-end retrospectives entirely.
